Dr Kate Vincett
BVM&S CertAVP(EM) MRCVS

Veterinary surgeon / Director

Kate graduated from Edinburgh University in 2005 and has worked in 100% equine practice ever since. For the first two years she returned to her home county of Kent and worked in a busy equine clinic doing both ambulatory first opinion work and anaesthesia for surgical cases. She then took time out to work for a humanitarian charity in Madagascar. On returning to the UK, she worked in the equine referral hospital at the University of Cambridge as part of their clinical and teaching team, focussing on referral lameness work ups.  Kate then joined the practice in January 2009 and enjoys all the outdoor pursuits this island has to offer including sailing, walking and gardening. Kate met her husband in Cowes and they enjoy island life as a perfect place for their daughters Isabella and Eleanor to grow up.

Kate took over as owner of Vectis Equine Vets in August 2012. She holds a post graduate Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice in Equine Internal Medicine and in 2016 was accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as an Advanced Practitioner in Equine Medicine. Kate has particular interests in gastrointestinal problems and lameness investigations.

Dr Dominique Carver
BVetMed BSc MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Dominique grew up on the island where she attended Ryde school. She then completed a degree in Bioveterinary science at Hartbury before completing her accelerated graduate Veterinary medicine degree in 2022 at the Royal veterinary College.  Dominique has ridden from a young age and has trained youngsters as well as an ex-racehorse. Outside work Dominique can be found walking the countryside with her nutty spaniel. She also enjoys hiking, camping and paddle-boarding.

Dr Freja Sundelin

BVM&S MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Originally Swedish, Freja grew up in Southern Africa, before moving to the UK to attend Edinburgh Vet School. Upon graduating she has joined us on the island, after deciding Scotland was just too cold. She has spent all of her life around horses, mainly showjumping. Freja enjoys spending her free time exploring the outdoors, and also loves travelling and wildlife.

Dr Isabel Sumner
BVetMed  MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

Izzi grew up in Buckinghamshire and attended the Royal Veterinary College, where she completed her veterinary medicine degree along with three externships at equine referral hospitals. During her time at university Izzi found a love for the sport of polo and filled most of her spare time with playing. Izzi joined the team in July 24 and having never visited the Isle of Wight before, she has been loving all the island has to offer. In her free time she is often exploring the countryside with her horse, Toby.
